Potential of novel porous materials for capture of toluene traces in air under humid conditions

We evaluated the potential of several novel porous materials for toluene capture in air under humid conditions. Four solids different nature were studied and compared to two reference materials: hyper-cross-linked polymers HCP SMP, metal organic framework MAF-6 activated carbon derived from (AC-MAF-6) with references (Norit RB3 a dealuminated Y zeolite (DAY)). The affinity sorbents was determined adsorption isotherms recorded at 25 °C low pressure part (<100 Pa) successfully fitted Unilan equation allowing extrapolation sub ppm (<0.1 concentration range. These equilibrium measurements complemented by recording breakthrough curves 10 Pa dry conditions (50% relative humidity). While DAY show dynamic capacities these conditions, AC-MAF-6 exhibit much better performances which case are close even Moreover, can be regenerated mild (200 °C) stable performance through adsorption/desorption cycles.
